The beauty of what we do here at LDK is that we can be your one stop shop. We haven’t just grown our offerings and expertise. We’ve done it the right way – ensuring we’re the experts in each part of the field.
It started in a single Kansas City neighborhood.
This business is well over a decade old. It started small. At the start it was one teenager, our founder, Luke Koenig, picking up yards in his neighborhood to earn money for the important stuff – going to movies with friends, etc. (you get it)
Luke is now the owner of an 8-person team serving the entire KC metro. But LDK didn’t initially grow by following the traditional playbook. There wasn’t a marketing budget back then. Just a string of satisfied neighbors saying “hey, my yard has never looked better!”
That’s how a single mower route turned into what you see today – a business with expertise across the board. Along the way it’s always been about one thing, treating others the way you want to be treated. We’re a big fan of the golden rule around here.
Done the right way.
Every service LDK offers — mowing, fertilization, irrigation, aeration, landscape installs, drainage, mulch and rock, sod, plantings, leaf removal, snow removal — we made sure we were experts in before putting it on the menu.
That’s the same principle behind how we treat your property. When you ask us what to do next, we’re going to tell you what we’d tell our own parents or loved ones. We don’t recommend services you don’t need. We don’t pad invoices. We don’t upsell the expensive option when a smaller fix would serve you better.
Integrity is the long game and we love to play it. That’s why our customers come back year after year. When we finish a job, we don’t leave stones unturned. That’s the promise we’ve held to since the first yard we ever mowed.
The same standard for every job
LDK is now made up of eight people: Luke (our CEO), Zach (general manager), our four-person crew, Taylor managing our front desk and the phone lines, and Abby (our branding gal) telling you the awesome story of LDK.
Luke set the standard when he was running this business out of a single truck. The team carries it forward today. The bar is the same whether the job is a single mow or a full landscape install. Every customer gets the same care, the same attention, the same finish.
Why one call for all of it matters.
Most homeowners don’t want to keep five different contractors on speed dial. They don’t want to call one company for mowing, a different one for sprinklers, a third for drainage, a fourth for snow.
